On Saturday, February 14, the Nova Centre in downtown Halifax was filled with over 750 graduates and guests for the 2026 Convocation Gala. This event marked the conclusion of a long journey for 132 successful Common Final Examination (CFE) writers from across Nova Scotia. The evening’s program included remarks from CPA Nova Scotia CEO Patti Towler, representatives of CPA Canada, and a toast from Adrian Carty, CPA, CA, the chair of the Board of Directors for CPA Nova Scotia.
“Your educational achievements took a dedication to learning, a willingness to stretch yourself, and a commitment to strive for excellence in all that you do,” said Adrian Carty. “You have done much more than just passing the Common Final Examination, and each of you are on your own journey that brought you to this point and will now continue on to places you cannot even imagine.”
After dinner, the top writer in Nova Scotia for the 2025 CFE, Amy Naugle, spoke to guests and her fellow graduates about the challenges of the CPA program and all the people who supported her along the way.
Congratulations to all graduates for their great achievement, and we look forward to supporting them in years to come as they make great contributions as CPAs in our province and beyond!
